Organisation

The Finnish Bar Association employs a knowledgeable team of office staff as well as numerous experts in positions of trust. The elected officials of the Board of the Finnish Bar Association, the Disciplinary Board and other bodies bring their expertise to the strategic management of the organisation and the development of the rule of law.

Organisation of the Finnish Bar Association

The office of the Finnish Bar Association employs just over 20 people, of whom approximately half are members of the Disciplinary Board. The Finnish Bar Association’s operational director is our Secretary General.

Elected officials

The highest decision-making body of the Finnish Bar Association is the Delegation. Implementation of the Delegation’s decisions is the responsibility of our nine-member Board of Directors and the Board’s special working groups, which are called Committees.

The Finnish Bar Association is a nationwide organisation with 12 local chapters around the country. The local chapters work tirelessly to ensure that access to legal services and the operating conditions of attorneys-at-law are guaranteed across the whole of Finland.

The Finnish Bar Association has more than 300 elected officials. Attorneys-at-law receive no financial remuneration for serving in positions of trust and instead work to improve the judicial conditions in Finland without any compensation for themselves.

Are you looking for an expert in a specific area of law?

The Finnish Bar Association’s opinions on legal policy are mostly prepared by our legal expert teams, of which we have a total of 19. The teams consist of more than 150 experts who represent the forefront of their respective areas of law.
