Applying for registration on the EU list

If you have obtained your attorney’s qualification in another EEA or EU country, you can can apply for registration on the Finnish Bar Association’s EU list without having your qualification recognised by the Finnish National Agency for Education.

In practice, you will need to be a member of the bar association in the country in which you obtained your qualification when you can apply for registration on the Finnish EU list. EU-list attorneys must observe the regulations that apply to the work of attorneys-at-law in Finland in their professional operations.

Once you have been working full-time as an attorney in Finland for at least three years, you can apply to join the Finnish Bar Association without taking the bar examination. For more information, contact jasenasiat@asianajajat.fi.
