Bar Examination of the Finnish Bar AssociationOf a person applying for membership of the Finnish Bar Association adequate knowledge about the rules and regulations concerning the advocacy as well as the demands of the rules of proper professional conduct is required. This knowledge is to be shown by passing the bar examination in an order accepted by the Ministry of Justice.
The bar exam consists of three parts: a written exam, a two-day course on ethical and practical issues of advocacy (the ethical part) and a course that lasts 12 weeks covering basic process skills (process part) starting with written home work before a two-day course. The bar exam may only be taken in either Finnish or Swedish language.
